40 Years in the Making

From the trading floors of London and New York to burnout and back, the career arc that makes Peter's coaching uniquely credible.

Act 1

The Business Operator

Investment banking on the trading floors of London and New York. The NHS. Oil rigs in the North Sea. International consulting across borders and cultures. This is the world Peter worked in, and the world his clients still inhabit.

Across 40 years, Peter led large-scale transformation programmes and built high-performance teams. His Six Sigma Master Black Belt is not a theoretical qualification, it was earned in the field.

Act 2

Burnout

On 16 September 2025, Peter woke up and couldn't get out of bed. In that moment he wasn't the high-performer, the leader, or the problem-solver, he was frightened, overwhelmed and unsure what to do next.

With professional help, two weeks away from work, and the steady support of family, close friends and his own coach and mentor, he began to rebuild, slowly at first, then with growing clarity and strength.

Act 3

The Coaching Pivot

Why 20 years of consulting crystallised into a calling. Peter's burnout taught him that high performance must be supported by humanity, not pushed through exhaustion. That insight is now the foundation of his coaching practice.

He enrolled in the ILM Level 7 Coaching and Mentoring programme, a postgraduate commitment to getting this right.

Act 4

The Coach Today

What Peter brings to every session: 40 years of judgment, pattern recognition, and hard-won perspective. The ability to sit with someone in a difficult moment and know, from lived experience, that the way forward exists.

He works with private clients and organisations across West Sussex and the South East, from his base in Burgess Hill. Sessions are shaped, confidential, and entirely focused on what matters most to you.

The Person Behind the Coach

Peter has been happily married for 27 years to his wife, Michelle, and has three children, a cat and a rabbit. In his spare time, he is a keen road cyclist and is Secretary to the What Would Mia Do Trust, a charity set up in memory of his daughter, to support young people in England and Wales aged 5–18 to get into or remain in sport, primarily from disadvantaged backgrounds.

His coaching is inseparable from who he is as a person, someone who has worked at the highest levels of business, experienced burnout, and come back with greater clarity about what matters.
